Privacy Policy

1. Data controller

Personal data collected on the Frenchee platform (frenchee.online and mobile app) is processed by LA LUCARNE, a French SARL with a share capital of €2,000, registered office at 86 rue Pierre et Marie Curie, Bâtiment A, 34430 Saint-Jean-de-Védas, France, registered with the Montpellier RCS under number 928 002 484. 2. Data we collect

We collect: • Account data: first name, last name, email address, password (hashed), date of birth (optional), role (student or teacher). • Profile data: photo, country, city, time zone, French level, learning goal. • Billing data: postal address, order history. Card data is processed exclusively by Stripe; we never have access to it. • Learning data: bookings, attendance, e-learning progress, teacher notes, reviews. • Communications: messages exchanged via the internal messaging system and the contact form. • Technical data: connection logs, push notification identifiers (mobile app).

3. Purposes and legal bases

Your data is processed for: • Performance of the contract: account creation and management, booking and delivery of lessons, payment, invoicing, messaging, learning follow-up. • Compliance with legal obligations: accounting, invoicing, payment fraud prevention. • Our legitimate interest: platform security, abuse prevention, service improvement. • Your consent: marketing emails (can be disabled in Settings), audience measurement cookies, push notifications. Consent may be withdrawn at any time.

4. Recipients

Your data is accessible to our authorised staff and, to the extent strictly necessary for the lesson, to your teacher (first name, level, goal). We use processors: Stripe (secure payment), Google (Google Meet video conferencing), Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database and storage, hosted in the European Union — Paris region), Brevo (email delivery), Expo (mobile push notifications). Subject to your consent, conversion data is shared with Google Ireland Limited (Google Ads) and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited (Facebook, Instagram) for advertising measurement. We never sell or rent your data to third parties.

5. Transfers outside the European Union

Application data (accounts, bookings, messages) is stored in the European Union. Some providers (notably Vercel and Google) may process data in the United States: these transfers are governed by appropriate safeguards (European Commission standard contractual clauses and/or certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).

6. Retention periods

• Account and profile data: for as long as you use the service, then deleted when the account is closed. • Booking and payment history: kept in anonymised form after account deletion, for accounting purposes (accounting records are kept for 10 years as required by law). • Messages: deleted with the account. • Technical logs: 12 months maximum. • Marketing data: until consent is withdrawn or 3 years after the last contact.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and portability of your data, as well as the right to withdraw your consent at any time and to set post-mortem directives. You can delete your account directly from your Settings, or exercise your rights by writing to contact@frenchee.online (proof of identity may be requested). You may also lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr).

8. Cookies

The site uses cookies strictly necessary for its operation (session, authentication, storage of your consent choice), which do not require consent. Subject to your agreement via the consent banner, it also uses audience measurement and advertising cookies (Google Ads and the Meta pixel for Facebook and Instagram): the latter measure the effectiveness of our campaigns and share conversion data with Google Ireland Limited and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. No measurement or advertising cookie is set without your consent, and you can change your choice at any time.

9. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted communications (HTTPS), hashed passwords, strict access control, PCI-DSS certified payments via Stripe. In the event of a data breach likely to result in a high risk to your rights, you will be informed in accordance with the regulations.

10. Minors

Registration is reserved for adults. A minor may only use the platform with the agreement and under the responsibility of their legal representative, who creates and manages the account.

11. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in the service or in regulations. The date of the last update appears at the top of the page; in the event of a substantial change, you will be informed by email or via the platform.
