There is no "best teacher" in absolute terms. The right teacher to prepare for an exam is not necessarily the right one to gain speaking fluency or learn business French. Before choosing, clarify your goal: it should guide your decision.

Define your goal first

Conversation and fluency: look for a teacher who gets you talking a lot and corrects gently.

Exams (DELF, DALF, TCF): choose a certified teacher who knows the format and what examiners expect.

Professional French: aim for someone experienced in your field or used to business vocabulary.

Absolute beginner: pick a patient, structured teacher who also speaks your language if needed.

What really matters in a profile

Look beyond the rating. Read the reviews: do they mention concrete progress? Does the teacher state their specialties and levels? A clear, honest presentation says more than an impressive title.

The importance of rapport
