French to settle in and truly live in France

The practical French you actually need for your new life, from your first appointment at the préfecture to chatting with the neighbours.

Just arrived in France, or getting ready for the move? Beyond grammar, you need to understand a CAF agent, fill in a dossier, talk to your children's teacher and make real friends. Our lessons start from your everyday life, with native teachers who know how France really works. Week after week, you gain independence and confidence.

Why French

  • Prepare for administrative appointments (préfecture, CAF, social security, bank) and finally understand the letters and forms you're asked to complete.
  • Handle daily interactions with ease: shopkeepers, the pharmacy, La Poste, tradespeople, your landlord or building manager.
  • Stay on top of your children's schooling: parent-teacher meetings, notes in the homework diary, canteen and activity sign-ups.
  • Describe your symptoms to the doctor and understand a prescription or the pharmacist's instructions without stress.
  • Build a social life: talk to your neighbours, join in local life and genuinely feel at home.

How we help you

  1. 1We start with a free assessment to pinpoint your level, your situation (ongoing paperwork, family, work) and your concrete priorities.
  2. 2Every lesson uses real-life role-play: calling a doctor, disputing a bill, presenting yourself at a préfecture appointment.
  3. 3You build the administrative and practical vocabulary you need right now, working from your own letters and documents.
  4. 4The focus is on speaking and confidence: you dare to talk, and we correct you kindly until the sentences come naturally.
  5. 5The pace fits your move: evening lessons, intensive sessions before a key appointment, and breaks when life demands them.

Who it's for

For expats, new arrivals and spouses of French nationals who want to live fully in France, gain everyday independence and, if needed, reach the A2 or B1 level often required to renew a residence permit.

Frequently asked questions

Will I actually learn the administrative vocabulary I need?+

Yes. We work from your real situations (préfecture, CAF, healthcare, bank, school) and even your own letters, so you understand what's being asked and know how to respond.

Do these lessons also help with renewing my residence permit?+

Absolutely. Improving your speaking and writing brings you closer to the A2 or B1 levels often required. We can also add targeted DELF or TCF preparation if you need it.

I'm a beginner and I'm nervous about speaking. Is that a problem?+

Not at all. Our native teachers are used to complete beginners and create a reassuring space. We move at your pace, with lots of speaking practice and zero judgement.

Can the schedule fit around my life in France?+

Yes. You choose your time slots, including evenings, and you can ramp up before an important appointment or ease off during a busy stretch.
